With many different CAD software programs being used by hobbyists, engineers, and the makerspace community, Prototype Hubs aims to offer a range of acceptable 3D CAD file types. If you would like to see more accepted file types in the future, please let us know here.

Below is a list of all supported 3D printing file upload types to the Prototype Hubs site:

  • Binary STL
  • ASCII STL

Currently, we accept STL files that have only been exported in millimeters (mm).

Coming Soon:

  • Support for OBJ file formats.
  • Support for 3MF file formats.
  • Support for file formats exported in inches (in) and centimeters (cm).
