Acceptable 3D Printing CAD Files

With many different CAD software programs being used by hobbyists, engineers, and the maker community, Prototype Hubs aims to offer a wide range of acceptable 3D CAD file types for 3D printing. If you would like to see more accepted file types in the future, please let us know here.

Accepted 3D Printing Files

Below is a full list of all supported 3D Printing file upload types to the Prototype Hubs site:

  • Binary STL
  • ASCII STL
  • 3MF
  • OBJ
  • STEP
  • STP
  • IGES
  • IGS

Currently, we accept STL, 3MF, and OBJ files that have been exported in millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm), and inches.
